How should the district approach budget decisions?

QuestionPublished 6/25/2026Updated 6/25/2026

School district budgets are ultimately statements of priorities.

I believe budget decisions should be made with a clear focus on students, transparency with the community, and careful attention to long-term sustainability. Strong schools require thoughtful planning, not short-term fixes.

That means asking practical questions: What directly supports students and teachers? What are our long-term obligations? What tradeoffs are we making? And how do we explain those tradeoffs clearly to the community?
